Sbarro is a restaurant chain with more than 1000 locations worldwide. The restaurant has a menu in excess of 200 items that include 30 types of pizza, 20 different salads and more than 40 hot entrees. The menu also includes seafood, vegetable pastas, sandwiches and homemade desserts. Nearly all of Sbarro s chefs cook in exhibition kitchens. Italian immigrants Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro founded Sbarro s Salumeria in Brooklyn, New York in 1959. The company later offered franchise opportunities. The Sbarro family still owns the company. Sbarro has system-wide sales in excess of $575 million annually.

Long before the golden arches towered over freeways everywhere there was a White Castle. In 1921, White Castle was founded in Wichita, Kan. At that time, the company began selling hamburgers for five cents apiece. Today it sells more than 500 million of its famous tiny hamburgers annually. The hamburgers, packaged in packs of ten or more, can be purchased from more than 380 restaurants.
