Before coming to Memorial, Dr. Hazey was the Chief of the Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at The Ohio State University. Dr. Hazey's extensive twenty-five year surgical expertise is in many types of procedures, including minimally invasive surgery. His philosophy is to carefully consider the unique history, needs, and goals of each patient. Before performing an operation, he will work to understand what his patient wants and then work with him or her to identify the best treatment. According to Dr. Hazey, "My goal is to partner with patients to provide less invasive surgical procedures that help to achieve better results, while enhancing their comfort levels, results, and recovery. My specialties range from natural orifice surgery, surgical endoscopy, as well as removal of gallbladder and bile duct stones." In his free time, Dr. Hazey enjoys relaxing with his family. He also likes to read, travel, and enjoy the outdoors - especially when it is a good day for a round of golf.
