The Record-Courier is a daily newspaper published by Swift Newspapers, a printer and publisher specializing in local news, information and advertising services and products. Founded in 1975, Swift Newspapers is an independently owned company headquartered in Reno, Nev. The company owns and operates more than 30 newspapers and portal Web sites in California, Colorado, Nevada and Oregon. All of Swift s newspapers are produced locally and printed in six printing sites, located in Carson City, Nev.; Gypsum, Colo.; Ogallala, Neb.; Greeley, Colo.; Grass Valley, Calif.; and Roseburg, Ore. The company s Gypsum, Colo., facility produces four daily and eight weekly newspapers and a number of other internal and third party publications. Swift Newspapers employs more than 1,000 people. The Record-Courier maintains offices in Ravenna, Ohio.
