Guthrie Job Corps Center, founded in 1966, is part of Job Corps, which is Department of Labor s education and vocational training program. Job Corps, founded in 1964, has more than 100 centers operating throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Alaska. It provides various programs for students from ages 16 through 24. Job Corps provides high school diploma and general equivalency diploma, and also offers a monthly allowance to its students. It also supports its students for up to 12-months after they graduate from the program. Guthrie Job Corps Center serves more than 40,000 young men and women, primarily from Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and New Mexico.
