Established in 1972. A Passion Turns Into A Business The story of Bassitt Auto Co. is the story of how one man turned a lifelong hobby into a thriving car repair shop and auto service company in Beaverton. In 1971, Craig Bassitt started working on friends' cars in his Lake Grove garage, part time. His friends told other friends and soon, due to neighbor's complaints about cars all over the street, Craig decided to move to the Helvetia area. Demand continued to grow so he built a pole building on that property around 1978. Customers were willing to drive for miles to have Craig work on their cars. Demand kept growing, so Craig devoted himself to servicing autos full time.
