Bend Senior High School provides academic instruction and extracurricular activities to students in grades 9 through 12. It administers the High Desert Driver Education Program, which serves school students and private schools in central Oregon. The school organizes wrestling, swimming, volleyball, ice hockey, basketball, softball, baseball and soccer activities. It conducts classes in Chemistry, biology, history, psychology, physics and math. Bend Senior High School publishes Bear Necessities, which is a newsletter that offers information related to college workshops and examination dates. It is administered by Bend-La Pine Schools, which was founded in 1883. Bend-La Pine Schools enrolls more than 16,000 students and employs a work force of over 1,600 people.
