The Heritage Museum serves the people of Independence and surrounding towns.
Specialties
The Heritage Museum preserves and displays the history and culture of the river town of Independence and Polk County through collections of artifacts, documents, and photographs and makes them available to the public by means of tours, programming and access to files and through work with other historical groups and community organizations. The museum is owned and operated by the City of Independence, and admission is free.
