Legacy Health System, based in Portland, Ore., provides medical services throughout the four-county Portland metropolitan area. The system s services include emergency, cancer care, cardiovascular medicine and surgical care. Legacy Health System includes two tertiary hospitals: Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center and Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center both of Portland, Ore. that are highly specialized to perform advanced and complex procedures and treatments over an extended period of time. The two community hospitals within the system are Legacy Meridian Park Hospital of Tualatin, Ore., and Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center of Gresham, Ore. Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital of Vancouver, Wash., is opening in the fall of 2005. Along with the hospitals, the system encompasses clinics and a network of primary and specialty practices that include women s health, cardiac care and pediatrics.
