Vossloh Track Material was founded in 1970 in Reading, Pa., to provide quality relay (used) track materials and turnouts to the railroad industry. It supplies new and relay rails, switches, turnouts, spikes, track bolts, gauge rods and switch stands. The company supplies cut spikes and lock spikes from the country's largest facility and has the capacity to produce more than 350,000 kegs per year. In 1992, it constructed a 155,000-square-foot facility to house a new special trackwork division. The division produces new turnouts and switches for the rail industry and special trackwork for transit companies. Vossloh Track Material also offers contracting services in addition to material sales. Having experience in track abandonment and surplus material acquisition, the company dismantles and salvages all types of railroad tracks. Through aggressive and comprehensive purchasing of excess and surplus materials Vossloh Track Material offers one of the industry's largest inventories of relay track materials.
