Established in 1957, Lackawanna College is a nonprofit organization and provides a variety of educational opportunities for students. It offers various associate degree programs, such as business, social and natural science, health and human services, applied technologies and general studies. The college has continuing education department that offers a variety of programs for both personal and professional development. The department s courses include credit and noncredit courses, certificate programs, specialized job training and seminars. The college also provides adult and developmental education. Additionally, it offers variety of athletic activities, including baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, cross country and golf. The college is approved by the commission on higher education of Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. It is located in Scranton, Pa.
