The Controller's Office is administered by the government of the City of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. The office is responsible for providing accounting and auditing services, as well as maintaining its information system. Its accounting department maintains financial data and performs bank reconciliations and fund transfers, as well as prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. The Controller's Office performs financial reviews and conducts audits of city departments and authorities. The office is responsible for maintaining computers, printers, optical scanners, modems, local area network terminals and microfiche machines. The Controller's Office also inspects and audits engineering, architectural, construction and demolition contracts.
