Downington Middle School is a public school that enrolls more than 1,200 students in grades six through eight. The school is located in Downingtown, Pa., and provides physical, health and special education. The middle school is a part of the Downingtown Area School District. Its curriculum includes English, language arts, music, math, science and social studies. Additionally, Downington Middle School provides courses in art, computer applications, technology, family and consumer science, and foreign languages with a choice in French, German and Spanish. The school also organizes various extracurricular activities, such as band and chorus groups, musical concerts, theater and drama. It has a library that provides curriculum books, reference sources, encyclopedias, audiovisual aids and computer workstations. Downington Middle School additionally provides student clubs and organizations and various sports activities, such as skiing, cross country, track, baseball, softball and lacrosse.
