Middletown Valley Park is a 40-acre open space area in Middletown, RI that was donated to the town over 15 years ago. Despite initial plans for development, the park's use was halted due to soil contamination. After extensive studies and negotiations, specially constructed walkways were created to cap the contamination, allowing for outdoor activities while preserving the natural state of the park.
The park features over a mile of walking trails, a parking lot, and wooden three rail fences. The landscaping plan, designed by the Middletown Tree Commission, focuses on tree plantings in 11 designated areas among the natural vegetation. Funding for the project primarily comes from the town, with additional support from local organizations and trusts.
