Carolina Filters was established in 1968 when Richard C. Dwight recognized the forthcoming trend of outside contracting for industrial services. He developed a staff of technicians and engineers to furnish air filters and provide service for air filter systems in plants throughout the southeastern United States. In response to its client needs, the process equipment cleaning division was created to provide cleaning services for stainless steel filters and related parts, such as pumps, piping and valves. From its base in South Carolina, the company expanded its offerings to include spinneret and pack cleaning services. This service gives customers an alternative option to costly in-house cleaning facilities and improves the performance of the equipment. The company s indoor air quality division includes IAQ audits and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems cleaning in commercial buildings, hospitals and schools. Carolina Filters is headquartered in Sumter, S.C.
