In 1921, Roy Tucker began making wooden school desks. He called his invention the "Nu-Idea desk". For the next 10 years Nu-Idea Desk Company sold thousands of these wooden desk and other complimentary items for classrooms in South Carolina & North Carolina. In the early 1930's Nu-Idea Desk Company transitioned from a manufacturer to distributor. Consequently the company name was changed to Nu-Idea School Supply Company (a total outfitter of school furnishings.) During this same time period, a weak economy forced many school administrators to pastor churches as well. They brought us with them and formed what is today Nu-Idea Church Furnishings. Nu-Idea Church Furnishings is a total outfitter of church interiors. Nu-Idea became the most dominant South Carolina Company in the classroom and church furniture industry. Today we represent 300+ manufacturing companies around the world and have remained the largest and most respected name in our industry. Our concept evolved to that of being a turn-key provider. This means we are capable of totally outfitting schools, churches and most any office building, including all budget analysis, design, layout, order processing, warehousing, delivery, installation and clean up.
