Watertown Middle School serves more than 650 students in grades seven and eight and is located in Watertown, S.D. It provides a variety of extracurricular activities to students, such as basketball, football, gymnastics, volleyball, wrestling, track and tennis, as well as forensics and drama productions. The school offers a wide range of courses in key boarding, art, reading and accelerated reading courses, language arts, science, social studies, physical education, music, math, industrial technology and foreign language. Watertown Middle School has various clubs, such as geography, history, math, newspaper, reading, science and yearbook. The school is operated by the Watertown School District 144 that also operates Watertown High, Lake Area Technical Institute, Lincoln Elementary School, Mellette Elementary School and Roosevelt Elementary School.
