Tennessee Education Association is a nonprofit, professional organization that advances and protects public education, the education profession and the rights and interests of its members. It represents over 55,000 elementary and secondary teachers, school administrators, education support personnel, higher education faculty and students preparing to become teachers. The association s constituent groups offer special programs to address specific needs of those working in the education profession and to people who want to join the profession. It has a Tennessee Retired Teachers Association that represents more than 9,000 retired educators.
