Bolivar Energy Authority is an electric power transmission, control and distribution organization that serves more than 11,000 consumers throughout Tennessee. Incorporated in 1936, it maintains more than 1,350 miles of electricity transmission lines. The organization provides online bill viewing and payment options for its residential and corporate clients. It offers a home guard protection program that includes insurances for various household appliances and sensitive equipment from power surges caused by lighting. Bolivar Energy Authority also provides outdoor lighting and underground electric services. It additionally participates in ENERGY STAR, which is a joint program of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy that helps to save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
