Commissioned by nearly 250 Nashville, Tenn., residents in 1908, the Hermitage Hotel opened its doors in 1910. As one of Nashville's first million-dollar hotels, it was a preferred gathering place for the city's socialites. It was also a national platform for both pro- and anti-suffrage forces. Famous guests include John F. Kennedy, Gene Autry, Bette Midler, Al Capone, Bette Davis, Greta Garbo, Isaac Hayes, Charlton Heston and Oprah Winfrey. Its more than 120 guest rooms and suites feature such amenities as marble bathrooms, oversized towels and robes, three two-line telephones, high-speed and wireless Internet, 24-hour room service, fitness room, massage therapy, concierge services, onsite business services, 24-hour security system, nightly turndown service, and event and meeting rooms that accommodate parties to 500. A unique amenity is the Pampering Pet Program that offers custom pet beds, a room service pet menu, dog walking services and grooming. The Hermitage Hotel is located in Nashville.
