Cole State Jail is a correctional facility that can accommodate up to 900 male offenders. The jail provides educational programs that include literacy, cognitive intervention and parenting seminars. It also offers career and technology programs in the areas of electrical trade, refrigeration, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Cole State Jail provides ambulatory medical, dental and mental health services. In addition, it offers substance abuse education, employment, and job and life skills development services. The jail employs more than 200 staff members. Cole State Jail is governed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, which provides confinement, supervision, rehabilitative and reintegration options for convicted felons.
