Texas Tumblers Gymnastics was opened in 1993 in Harker Heights, Texas, and is owned and operated by Mark and Kim Walsh. Together they have been involved with gymnastics for over 40 years. Kim has been involved in gymnastics since she was a young child. She competed for the Richardson Rec Center through junior high. Kim attended R.L. Turner High School in Farmers Branch Texas where she was on the drill team for 2 years. She started coaching gymnastics in high school for the Farmers Branch Rec. Center. Kim then attended University of North Texas in Denton and transferred to UT Austin. She was on the University of Texas gymnastics club team and competed for two years. While attending college she first coached at Crenshaws Gymnastics Academy in Austin and later coached for Capital Gymnastics where she received most of her training. She has coached children from mom and tot to level 10. Kim is a member of the Gymnastics Association of Texas, USAG Safety Certified, and a Professional member of USAG. Gymnastics is a great sport and coaching children is a positive and rewarding field to be involved with. Kim and Mark have two beautiful children, Tatum is 11 and Ty is 13. Mark has received accreditation for the Professional Development Program through the USAG. He is also USAG Safety Certified and a Professional member of the USAG. Other Credits include a Bachelors of Science Exercise and Sports Science from UMHB, Instructors Training Program for Recreational and Team level, Meet Director certified, KAT certified, USECA member, and a Gymnastics association of Texas member, with experience ranging from preschool level classes to competitive level gymnastics. Gymnastics is a very progressive sport and changes constantly. Mark and Kim must continually add to their knowledge and share what they learn with those who are enthusiastic about the sport of Gymnastics, as well as working constantly to educate their first rate staff. The Goal at Texas Tumblers is to make gymnastics a very positive activity! While the kids are having fun, they are learning life long fitness habits. We are striving to teach them to become healthy, successful, and happy adults.
