Haynes Elementary School, founded in 1964, was named in honor of E.R. Haynes, the first superintendent of the Lubbock Independent School District. It is recognized by the Texas Education Agency and provides a variety of educational programs to more than 350 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school s facilities include a resource room, computer laboratory, library and gymnasium. It offers an early childhood program and conducts language retraining classes. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, math, science and social studies. Its library stocks a range of fiction and non fiction books, newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias, maps, dictionaries and audiovisual materials. Haynes Elementary School is located on a 10-acre campus in Lubbock, Texas.
