The Central Independent School District was established in 1929, and formerly known as the Central Consolidated Common School District. The school district operates primary, elementary, junior high and high schools that educate more than 1,500 students. The district also has career and technology, agriculture, maintenance, transportation and administration buildings; an outdoor classroom facility; and baseball and softball fields. Its curriculum department develops an assessment program for all core areas that help teachers determine student progress and achievement. It additionally develops and aligns an advanced placement program for grades six through 12. Its college awareness program increases the college going rate of students from all ethnic groups and from varying socioeconomic status. The Central Independent School District is located in Pollock, Texas.
