Founded in 1897, the Ella Austin Community Center offers a variety of educational and social services for children and senior citizens. It provides child care solutions for children with developmental disabilities, as well as parenting programs to improve their visual, auditory, linguistic, sensory, emotional, intellectual and physical skills. The center additionally organizes a range of recreational activities, including quilting, sewing, table games, computer classes, field trips, and arts and crafts. It offers transportation, shopping assistance, resource information and emergency services. The center also distributes food and clothes for people aged 60 and above. In addition, it provides breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks for children. The center is a member of the International Federation of Settlements and Neighborhood Centers.
