Dr. Jose Simon Montelongo Jr. was born and raised in Houston, TX. He received his dual bachelor's degree from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and is a medical graduate from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his general surgery training at University Medical Center, Texas Tech University Health Science Center, El Paso, and is board-certified in general surgery.
