Dessau Middle School

Hudson Bend Middle School provides education to more than 530 students in grades six through eight. The middle school s academic curriculum offers classes in various subjects, including mathematics, science, language arts, reading and social studies. It additionally provides accelerated, and gifted and talented instruction in language arts and mathematics classes. The school s elective curriculum offers a wide array of courses in physical education, Spanish, dance, art, choir, theater arts, band, orchestra, yearbook, Web mastering, teen skills and reading enrichment. Its sports programs include football, basketball, tennis, golf, volleyball, and track and field. The institution s library offers more than 10,000 volumes of literature, periodicals and reference books for students and teachers. Established in 1980, Austin Waldorf School, located in Austin, Texas, serves over 370 students from grades kindergarten through 12, and is a fully accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and Independent School Association of the Southwest. The school s kindergarten students are introduced to mathematics with counting games, rhymes, finger plays, jumping rope, setting the table, and measuring ingredients for baking bread.
