The Special Education Department, administered by the Independent School District, provides a range of courses and programs for students with disabilities. The department conducts parent training and informational sessions. It also offers a variety of audiological services. The Special Education Department additionally provides interpreting services that include a combination of communication modes, such as sign language, oral and cued speech interpreters. The department also offers language habilitation, auditory training, hearing evaluation and speech conservation services. Its other services include health care, counseling, occupational therapy, and orientation and mobility training services. The Special Education Department also provides a range of psychological and social work services. The department is located in San Antonio.
