Grand Fayette Hotel

HistoryThe Grand Fayette Hotel (formerly the Country Place Hotel) on the Fayetteville, Texas historic town square was purchased by Mary Quiros and Joan Herring in 2017 and completely refurbished. The hotel is housed in the two-story Zapp Building, a structure built in 1900 and currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Clovis and Maryann Heimsath, the original owners, remodeled the interior of the old building to create the Country Place Hotel in 2003.. The hotel has operated consistently since then and has become a community gathering place as well. Many public meetings and private parties are held in the hotel's Moravian Room, which is also the home of the annual Fayetteville Chamber Music Festival. German native Hugo Zapp started a mercantile business in Fayetteville in 1865. He built the brick building that now stands. It is in the Romanesque Revival style with decorative brickwork in a distinctive checkerboard pattern.SpecialtiesThe Grand Fayette Hotel overlooks the town square in historic Fayetteville, a charming Central Texas small town with population 250. Open year round, the Grand Fayette is a premier historic country inn located in a building originally built in 1900 and restored in 2003 within the guidelines of the Texas Historical Commission. Our eight second floor guest rooms and two first floor garden rooms feature private bathrooms and has original art, with gallery lighting. Mary Quiros and Joan Herring purchased the hotel in July 2017 and have updated the interiors -- and the comfort -- of the iconic hotel.
