Private school providing an excellent educational community, motivating students to develop their full potential in service and leadership. As both a private middle school and private high school in San Antonio, Texas, TMI Episcopal educates students in grades 6-12. The admission process is designed to allow multiple opportunities for discovering each student's ability and willingness to support our mission. We strive to know the student’s personality, strength of character, extracurricular talents, and leadership potential and recognize that each individual has many strengths. At TMI, we understand the commitment and sacrifices families make to provide their children with a private school education that will set them up for success in the future. We prepare our students for the best universities around the world, strengthened with a foundation of service and leadership, ready to rise to and surpass the demands of rigorous college academics and instilled with lessons that will guide them throughout the rest of their lives. Since 1893, TMI has educated students to become servant leaders in our communities. From the school’s first valedictorian, General Douglas MacArthur ’97, to its many graduates throughout the years – such as Tom C. Frost Jr. ’45, Congressman Lamar Smith ’65, astronauts, military officers, Pulitzer Prize nominees and many other notable men and women – TMI has a long history of educational excellence in preparing students for college and beyond. TMI educates both girls and boys in grades 6-12, offering small classes, honors and AP courses, and a full range of extracurricular activities including community service, robotics, outdoor education, theater, choir, and band. The competitive athletic program at TMI emphasizes teamwork, work ethic, sportsmanship, and commitment while over 1/3 of the student body participates in the nationally distinguished JROTC program, which boasts the award of Honor Unit with Distinction, and provides students unsurpassed leadership training. For students who are interested in boarding schools, TMI also offers both 5-day and 7-day boarding options for students in 8th-12th grade who want to be a part of the Residential Life community. We welcome boarders from all around the globe. "TMI taught me to think critically, seek the underlying meaning and not take things at face value. Most importantly, I gained the confidence and drive to pursue my dreams," Christopher S. Wagner '86.
