History

In 2003 a group of community leaders decided to take action to help reduce healthcare disparities by creating a neighborhood-based health center. With the financial support of neighborhood churches and private donations the clinic opened its doors in May 2004 offering services three days a week. In 2005 the community clinic was designated a Federally Qualified Health Center, and in 2009 SBCHC added a satellite location.
