Avery is a town in Red River County, Texas, United States. The population was 462 at the 2000 census. Every year it host the Annual Tomato Festival around the beginning of July to honor its history as one of the largest tomato producing cities in eastern Texas.
Avery is located at 33°33′13″N 94°46′49″W / 33.55361°N 94.78028°W / 33.55361; -94.78028 (33.553519, -94.780308).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²), of which, 0.9 square miles (2.5 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (3.06%) is water.
