Little Elm is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States and a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The population was 3,646 at the 2000 census. By the 2010 census, the city total had jumped to 25,898. Current estimates show the population to be 26,850, making Little Elm one of the fastest growing municipalities in Texas since 2000 in terms of percentage.
Little Elm is located at 33°9′50″N 96°55′49″W / 33.16389°N 96.93028°W / 33.16389; -96.93028 (33.163955, -96.930281).
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,646 people, 1,210 households, and 965 families residing in the town. The population density was 751.5 people per square mile (290.3/km²). There were 1,302 housing units at an average density of 268.4 per square mile (103.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 79.24% White, 2.96% African American, 0.63% Native American, 0.74% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 14.15% from other races, and 2.22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 22.96% of the population.
