Palmview is a city in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,460 at the 2010 census. It is part of the McAllen–Edinburg–Mission Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.2 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,107 people, 1,093 households, and 977 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,712.5 people per square mile (660.7/km²). There were 1,671 housing units at an average density of 696.7 per square mile (268.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 67.35% White, 0.02% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 31.19% from other races, and 1.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 93.21% of the population.
