Established in 1964, Barre Housing Authority is a municipally based Vermont housing authority that maintains more than 45 apartments. The authority provides affordable housing for low-income individuals and families and adults and senior citizens with disabilities. Its properties maintain playgrounds, basketball courts, laundry facilities, gardens and parking space. Barre Housing Authority s houses feature community rooms, patios, elevators, air conditioners, balconies and trash chutes. The authority also offers meal services for residents. It employs an occupancy specialist, as well as finance and administrative assistants, cooks, drivers, maintenance crew, and leasing, tenant and food services directors.
