John XXIII Montessori Children's Center, Inc ( JXXIIIMCC ) was founded in 2003 as a non-profit organization ( 501 ( c ) for the purpose of offering the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd ( CGS ) Atrium program for children. CGS is a unique religious formation method based on Montessori principles and grounded in Thomistic philosophy in the Catholic tradition. This beautiful program for children 3-12 years allows God to speak directly to the child, helping the child to fall in love with the person of Jesus. Recently the Missionaries of Charity, Mother Teresa's order, have taken training in CGS and are now implementing it worldwide in their work with poor children and orphans " a fitting endorsement of the Hidden Treasure that is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. The fall of 2009 has seen the fulfillment of our desire to expand and offer a Catholic Montessori Academic program option for families in addition to our Atrium program. We have added both a Primary and Elementary Three Morning Academic Program led by A.M.I. trained Directresses and CGS Catechists. See Our Programs for more information and also our Program Overview. Please join John XXIII Montessori at our 3rd annual Slow Food Vast Wine fundraising event a unique celebration of fabulous locavore food and award-winning wines!
