The Lynchburg Fire Department works to provide fire suppression and prevention services. Established in 1883, it is responsible for offering emergency medical hazardous materials and space emergencies solutions. The department serves more than 66,000 residents. The Lynchburg Fire Department works with a team of over 190 staff members. It operates an administrative office, specialized repair shop, fire training facility and nearly five stations.
