History

PFC & PTC was established in Gainesville, VA to provide quality outpatient psychotherapy services to children, adolescents and adults, with a special focus on providing developmentally appropriate services to children and adolescents. We started with one full-time psychotherapist in 2005 at the Gainesville office. In December 2012, we opened a second office in Woodbridge, VA. PFC & PTC also provides play therapy services to clients at a small private daycare in Manassas, VA. Currently, we have 22 psychotherapists and 3 business staff. In addition to our mental health and business professionals, we also work with local universities to provide hands-on professional counseling training to master's level interns at our three locations. Our goal has always been to utilize evidence-based, up-to-date methods to our clients and to train other mental health professionals in these methods.

Specialties

We provide outpatient psychotherapy services for children as young as 2 years through adults of all ages. Our mental health professionals provide individual, family, couples and group counseling services to help our clients address anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief & loss, work related stress, family problems, divorce/separation, abuse, trauma, substance abuse, school problems, behavior problems, ADHD and High Functioning Autism Spectrum disorders. Services available for Deaf & Hard of Hearing, Spanish, Hindi and Urdu speaking clients. Christian Counseling also available. In addition to providing traditional counseling for adults, we specialize in working with children, adolescents and their families using play & expressive therapists. Our mental health professionals use a variety of developmentally appropriated play and expressive methods to address issue early in child development.
