Bland Schools provide a wide range of educational and extracurricular programs for students in grades kindergarten through 12. Operated under the Bland County Public Schools, the curriculum includes accelerated reading program, English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, and performing and visual arts. Besides the regular subjects, curriculum for high school students also includes college preparatory, family and consumer sciences, and vocational and special education programs. The school provides students opportunity to engage in many extracurricular sports, such as football, basketball and tennis, and organizations and clubs, including the National Beta Club and Future Farmers of America. The school has a fully equipped library, and operates a federally approved lunch program. The curriculum is designed as per the Virginia Department of Education and No Child Left Behind Act, and uses Standards of Learning tests to assess students in grades three through 12 in various subjects. The elementary and the high school share the same campus in Bland, Va.
