Located in Klahanie, New Heights Preschool prepares children for a lifetime of successful learning. Klahanie residents, Ms Shari and Ms Kelly, modeled their preschool program after the highly rated Sammamish Learning Center, which closed June, 2015. These long time teachers from SLC offer the same blend of Montessori and traditional preschool philosophies that made Sammamish Learning Center a unique and much loved preschool on the plateau for 20 years. The preschool is located in a natural setting and offers a peaceful environment where children are inspired to imagine, explore, create, and discover. History Established in 2015. Ms Shari taught at Sammamish Learning Center for 13 years. When the directors announced that SLC would be closing, Shari began planning and constructing New Heights Preschool in Klahanie. This preschool continues the practices, philosophy, and traditions which made SLC a treasure on the Sammamish Plateau for 20 years. A peaceful, natural setting and a unique blend of Montessori and traditional preschool philosophies encourages children to imagine, explore, create, and discover. "We help to prepare children for a lifetime of successful learning". Meet the Business Owner Ms Shari is the owner and a teacher at New Heights Preschool. She received her degree in education with a special education endorsement and speech pathology minor from Western Washington University. She holds a Montessori teaching certificate and was a lead teacher at Sammamish Learning Center for 13 years. School Philosophy "New Heights provides a safe preschool experience which respects and nurtures each child's ability to imagine, explore, create, and discover." We believe that preschool-aged children are social, curious, and creative. They seek to develop relationships with other children and the adults in their lives. Preschoolers are excited to learn about the world around them. Motivated by their curiosity, they use their developing senses to explore and discover. New Heights Preschool is committed to providing a safe classroom experience, rich in social interaction and multi-sensory approaches to education. Our thoughtfully-designed materials stimulate your child’s developing senses and respectfully encourage imagination, exploration, creativity, and discovery.
