History

Tiny Science started when Jen began volunteering at her kids' school with a praying mantis setup. Jen had been rearing praying mantises every spring for over 15 years and thought the preschool might be interested in this fascinating project. There was immediate interest in weekly visits to talk about the mantises and answer (amazing) questions from these big thinkers. After being encouraged to grow the program, Jen founded Tiny Science, LLC. Jen now lives her dream of being responsible for searching for and rearing of insects, as well as learning and telling people all about them. Nerd on

Jen the Entomologist delights as she tells interesting stories about beetles, butterflies, mantises, and more to school groups and other big thinkers! Jen installs and maintains attractive insect terraria for your school or other space, and visits to teach about these fascinating ambassadors of nature. Jen specializes in sparking interest in science. Hungry learners, question-askers, and big thinkers of all ages and abilities love learning from this enthusiastic entomologist.
