American Electric Power, also known as AEP, is one of the largest generators of electricity in the United States. The company has over 37,000 megawatt of generating capacity in the U.S. Its electricity transmission system covers eastern Canada and nearly 35 U.S. states. The company s utility units include AEP Ohio, AEP Texas and Appalachian Power. With annual revenues of approximately $14 billion, American Electric Power employs a staff of up to 21,000 people. The company, incorporated in 1906, owns Columbus Southern Power Company and Indiana Michigan Power Company. American Electric Power provides coal combustion products for the DFW expansion project in Pittsburg in Texas. The company also offers power supply products for Rayburn Electric Cooperative and Pedernales Electric Cooperative.
