The Parkersburg Housing Authority, also known as PHA, is a private, nonprofit organization that is chartered by the state of West Virginia. Located in Parkersburg, W.Va., it operates a public housing department that is comprised of more than 145-unit complex. This department includes an activity center that supports a day care center, as well as Head Start and after-school programs. The Parkersburg Housing Authority conducts a range of activities. The authority assists low-income families to improve the quality of lives through economic independence or homeownership. It serves in Wood, Wirt, Wetzel, Marshall, Tyler, Doddridge, Pleasants and Ritchie counties in West Virginia.
