Independent Fire Company, also known as IFC, works to provides fire and rescue services. It serves the residents of Ranson and surrounding areas in West Virginia. The company protects a population of more than 30,000 residents in over 125 square miles. Independent Fire Company operates a fleet of heavy-duty rescue unit, gallon tanker, utility vehicle, ambulances and pumpers. Established in 1884, the company offers services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It works with a team of nearly 50 staff members. Independent Fire Company responds to approximately 2,200 emergency medical service calls annually.
