Spencer Elementary School, established in 1982, is a part of the Roane County Public School System. Located in Spencer, W. Va., the school enrolls more than 500 students in grades kindergarten through four. Its curriculum includes English, reading and writing skills, language arts, foreign languages, science, social studies, and math. It also offers art, music, computer studies and physical education. It organizes events and programs, such as county science fair, golden horseshoe, regional spelling bee, state social studies fair, state math field day and geography bee. It also offers various sports activities, including track and field, soccer, football, volleyball, and basketball. It also provides library and computer laboratory facilities, and cafeteria service for its students.
