The Elmbrook Historical Society, founded in 1977, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the collection, preservation, and dissemination of historical materials related to Brookfield and Elm Grove, Wisconsin. Its main project, the Dousman Stagecoach Inn Museum, is a stately Greek Revival inn built in 1843 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The society actively engages the community through various public activities, including lectures, docent-led tours, and special fundraising events like Afternoon Teas and Christmas at the Inn. With over 175 members, the organization works tirelessly to maintain the museum, preserve local historic buildings, and promote awareness of the region's rich history.
