Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation

Established in 1932, Gardner Dam Scout Camp, also known as GDC, is a patrol cooking camp that is owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America. GDC offers the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience program, which includes a series of challenging activities designed to promote group interaction and develop problem solving skills. The camp organizes various activities, such as canoeing, kayaking and mountain biking. It conducts craft workshops in the areas of arts, leather work, basketry and wood carving. Gardner Dam Scout Camp also provides Eagle Challenge, which is a merit badge program for scouts. It additionally offers day, resident and family camping programs. The camp conducts a variety of recreational activities, such as rock climbing, rappelling, sailing, snorkeling and trekking.

Founded in 1930, Camp Deerhorn offers a variety of wilderness and adventure activities for boys between the ages of 7 and 16. It organizes various activities, such as waterskiing, sailing and mountain biking. The camp conducts swimming classes that impart stroke techniques and survival skills. Its sports activities include baseball, ice hockey, soccer, volleyball and lacrosse. Camp Deerhorn also organizes a range of recreational activities, such as canoeing, archery, and arts and crafts. It conducts golf sessions that include instruction in putt, chip and drive techniques. The camp s popular activities include water sliding, diving and jumping. It operates a shop that sells clothes, batteries and cameras. Camp Deerhorn is located in Rhinelander, Wis.
