Eshowe 3815
Adams Outpost Restaurant is situated in the Fort Nongqayi Museum Village in Eshowe, KZN. NORWOOD, Alfred Adams’ original homestead and now ADAMS OUTPOST RESTAURANT, was built by Alfred Adams in 1887. Adams was Eshowe’s first trader and “Military Purveyor”, and Adams Camp Store served the Fort Curtis Garrison Camp of 2000 Imperial Troops for many years. Norwood hosted many dignitaries and travellers in its day, including Edward, Prince of Wales who, in 1925, is said to have danced on the Norwood dining room table! Norwood was re-located from its original site next to the Golf Course, to the museum grounds in 1997, to make way for a new housing estate, and now houses the Adams Outpost Restaurant.
